Ever wondered what saying ‘I do’ on a campsite would look and feel like? Well look no further because Kath and Paul’s wedding at Heritage Coast Campsite back in May was one of the most memorable events I have been part of. Super relaxed, lots of banter, space for children and families to unwind, welcoming to dogs and ALL the pretty things that you’d expect at a wedding.
When Kath told me she was getting ready in the disabled toilet on the campsite I knew I had to cover bridal prep despite it not being contracted. There was no way I was going to miss the opportunity to capture something different and quirky on someone’s special day. Hair and make up done in a designated hair and make up tent, dress on in the loos before the short walk to the lovely marquee set up for their beautiful humanist ceremony. Surrounded by friends and family, including the most dogs I’ve ever seen at at a wedding the whole place was full of love for this amazing couple. Guests even seeing the floor of the marquee and moving tables before the ceremony.. a real team effort. Food was amazing - a lunch buffet before the ceremony for campers who had stayed the night before from costco and the post ceremony food was fish and chips in a lovely custom made chippy van parked up outside. They also did waffles which when down extremely well. The cake was made by Sam at the Happy Baker, based near Pontypridd.. Sam makes the tastiest cakes, trust me, I’ve had loads from her. I can’t not mention the funniest father of the bride speech I’ve ever heard though.. absolute legend and also some very warm emotional moments, especially from Paul’s son and best man. I always think a wedding speech is bang on when they make you laugh and cry and between them all the emotions were lit.
Words can’t truly express how fab this wedding was so let me tell their story in pictures… enjoy :-)
